Our lab will hold biweekly meetings designed to support research, professional development, and lab community. Each meeting will begin with “old business” – a space to share updates, news, and successes. This will be followed by rotating activities that normalize feedback at all stages of science – developing ideas, analyzing data, drafting manuscripts, or practicing presentations. Topics may include research progress and troubleshooting, manuscript or journal reviews, practice talks, guest discussions, paper readings, reproducible science, code reviews, and other professional development themes. By rotating responsibilities and keeping the format flexible, these meetings will provide consistent opportunities for skill-building, collaboration, and fun, while ensuring support one another’s growth as scientists and celebrate our modest successes. Any folks working on related, theoretical or applied wildlife topics are welcome to join.
